Providing audit and accounting services to state, local and tribal governments is the foundation of our firm. Many of our team members provide services exclusively for governmental entities. Our experience serving these organizations has given us an in-depth understanding and knowledge of the challenges affecting governmental entities.

Several of the governments that we audit are subject to the reporting and audit requirements of the Uniform Guidance, which applies to entities expending over $750,000 in federal awards in a given fiscal year. Additionally, several of the New Mexico governmental audits we have performed are subject to the requirements of the New Mexico State Auditor Rule (2.2.2 NMAC). We are included in the 2020 list of approved audit firms by the New Mexico Office of the State Auditor.

We are proud members of the Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC) of the AICPA and encourage our team members to complete the AICPA’s Single Audit certification program. We are also proud members of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and have presented on several topics at the Albuquerque and New Mexico chapter Professional Development Training conference.

Our experience auditing healthcare organizations has given us a comprehensive understanding of the billings and collections process for several different types of healthcare entities as well as an understanding of significant third-party payors. 

Joshua Trujillo, one of our Principals, is a longtime member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and is certified as a Fellow of HFMA (FHFMA). He has also presented on several topics affecting healthcare in New Mexico at the local spring and fall conferences of New Mexico HFMA.
